Georgia: Day One

We went tubing again in Helen. We let Grant have his very own tube this year! Grant immediately got scared, which scared Grayson. So for the first 30 minutes they were crying down the river. Gary had decided to do the long run, so I kept thinking we were going to have to listen to two hours of screaming! But after a bit, they settled down and enjoyed themselves. We love this activity because it is so refreshing and I love the beautiful trees. Each year gets a little easier!

Georgia: The Roadtrip

We headed to Georgia again this summer. It was going to be a really quick trip, but worth it anyway. The boys are growing and our little cars are getting hard to travel in, so PawPaw let us borrow his Suburban. The boys loved watching movies and Gary and I loves all the extra space! When we finally got there, we went to dinner... And I just loved this little snapshot of Grant and Grandpa. So sweet!

Swimming Lessons

Grant took swimming lessons with our friend, Shana. The first day he put his head under water and swallowed a bunch of water. That was not a good start for him. I had to do everything in my mommy bag of tricks the next day to convince him to go to lessons... And it was a good thing that I did because he loved it! By the end of lessons, he was jumping off the diving board and swimming in the deep end by himself!

Bike Riders!

One of our favorite summer activities has been bike riding! Gary and Grant would take hour tours of the neighborhood with stops at the park and baseball fields. Tippi gave me her old bike and we found a seat for Grayson to ride in, so soon it was a whole family affair! Grayson has plenty of little trikes, but we're still working on the finer points of pedaling.

Dinos at the Zoo!

This kid is a beautiful, fun MESS! I love all the crazy little things he does and I love watching him from afar. So much fun! This was a typical trip to the zoo with our friends the Husbys. But Grayson wore this Dino tail I made the whole time! People were laughing at him and saying, "How cute!" The funniest part was that he was walking around all serious looking at each of the animals like nothing was out of the ordinary! Silly kid. I loved it. And so did everyone else.

Grant Reading to Grayson

This is by far my favorite video... EVER. It all of a sudden got quiet so I started looking for the kids. They like to make beds in our closet and that is where I eventually found them...

Frontier Day 2012

We walked to our local Frontier Day Parade where we met up with our friends, the Auburgs. The kids loved watching the floats, catching candy and waving to the animals! After the parade, Gary had to work so I took the boys to all the festivities. Grant got to ride in a train and we saw oodles of antique cars. After all that walking, we headed to Sonic for some refreshment. Grant asked if we could sit at the picnic tables, so we did! And we sat there having fun and being silly for at least an hour!

Weekend Fun!

The Husbys invited us and the Auburgs over for dinner and some fun! We had a great time and even joined them at church the next morning to listen to a sermon on parenting (I can always stand to hear a few of those).

Four Year Stats

Grant is still a big kid! Although it's neat to see him growing into his body a bit! He still has wide shoulders but his waist is slimming down. We're always a size ahead of his age, but I've gotten used to that. And those feet! They are huge (size 11)!

Birthday Breakfast

Grant and his friend, Michael, are only two days apart. They are perfect friends for each other. They nearly always get a long and they just love each other's company. This past year we started a new tradition. A birthday breakfast! We met at a park, Carley brought donuts and I brought milk and juice. And the boys just played! It was so much fun and needs to be repeated every year!

Happy Birthday to Grant!

Grant, like any kid, just loves his friends! He's constantly asking me to go to Grace and Eva's house or to play with Michael or asking when he'll see Jordan, Trevor and Charlie again. I loved this party because he had so many of his little friends there! It truly was a celebration for him!

Roar! A Dino Party!

Grant's dinosaur party was so much fun to plan! And he had so much fun with family and friends!

Good Friends

I just love this picture and couldn't let it go without it being blogged! We love the Husbys!!!
