September Birthdays

September is a month full of birthdays for our little family. First we celebrated Oma's birthday. We made the trip to my parent's house and as soon as we got there...
... Aunt Robin took over baby duty. I love it!
Grandpa decided that we needed to bring the baby pool closer to the house. Grant and Grandpa pulled the tractor around. Grant was very quiet the whole way, but you could tell that he loved riding it. Grant enjoying the pool and entertaining the rest of us!
Grandpa and Oma (the birthday girl).
Uncle Mike and Grayson.
We also got to celebrate Bibby's birthday the very same weekend! Unfortunately, I forgot my camera so you'll have to imagine all the fun we had!!!
This past weekend was PawPaw's birthday. Uncle Greg, Aunt Jen and cousin Austin all came into to town to help celebrate. We managed to get a couple pictures of all three of the boys. I promise they are a happier lot than this, but it's hard to get them all to smile at the same time!
The birthday boy opening cards and presents (when do we get to the cake???).
Tippi and Grant looking on.
Jen and me.
Grayson was so tired by the end of the day. A few days before he had started getting a cold. The day before he got a stomach bug and was throwing up all day. AND I found out just a bit later that he was also teething. The poor kid.
Tippi, PawPaw, Grayson and Grant.
Happy Birthday to Oma, PawPaw and Bibby!!! We love you!

9 Months Old

Grayson had his 9 month well check up today. Before going, I looked up big brother's stats from the same age so that I could do a little compare/contrast. We just knew Grayson would not weigh as much as Grant did, but I'll give you all the details in my next post. For now, let's concentrate on the man of the hour...
Height: 29 inches (67%)
Weight: 20 pounds 2.5 ounces (38%)
and drumroll, please...
Head: 17.5 inches (21%!!!!!!!)
Excuse the over abundance of exclamation points, but I was so excited when they told me his head was no longer the smallest one on earth! Ok. A bit of an exaggeration, but still exciting news. Doctor also said he was in perfect baby health and would probably be walking by his first birthday.

Nine months old - This has been (by far) the hardest picture to get! He kept lunging at the camera and wanted to stand at the edge of the crib. But, boy, has he grown!!!

Crawling, Standing and Beyond!

The day Grayson turned seven months old, he began to crawl. So this post is two months in the making. (I'm a little slow these days.) He moves just as fast as Grant at times and is constantly following him. Anytime Grant wants to go to another room in the house, he turns around to find Grayson, bends down to pat his leg and says, "Come on, G!" He does this until they have both reached their final destination, then they sit and play like good little boys. It's the cutest thing.

Since it is nearly impossible to take pictures or video with Grant around right now, I had to take some video of Grayson while Grant was at school. I hope to capture Grayson following Grant around at some point, but I might need to desguise our camera first!

In other news, Grayson stood by himself for the first time last week. I was certain that he wouldn't hit his major motor milestones as quickly as Grant did (not many do), but he is not far off the pace at all! :) He has done it a few times since then, but only momentarily. As soon as I get an action shot, I'll post it. Until then, enjoy this kid's beautiful smile...

Meet You at My Crib

Grant knows he's not allowed in Grayson's room while he is sleeping. So just as soon as he hears him wake up, Grant runs down the hall yelling, "G!" We go in and find a smiling Grayson (well, not really... it takes him a few seconds to start smiling. He's grumpy just like me when he first wakes up)!
My sweet, sweet boy! He has started putting his head on my shoulder and just 'resting' on me. I love those moments. AND he will give you kisses... they are big, sloppy, wet things, but there isn't anything sweeter in this world. I melt every time! Brother Grant helping wake G up from his nap.
One of the reasons I haven't blogged a lot lately is because every time I take out the camera, Grant has to "try." Which I would have no problem with if I trusted him not to break the camera! Anyway, he did take some funny pictures of his brother in the crib... Grayson's scared look!
Grayson's happy look!
My two boys. I look at this picture and I wonder if Grayson will ever be a GIANT like Grant. We find out next week Grayson's newest stats. We'll see if he is keeping up with big brother's pace.

Fire! Fire!

Last month we took a tour of the Firestation with MOMS Club. It is an annual event that everyone just loves. Since Carley and Michael haven't been able to come to many events lately, I picked Michael up so that he could join us. I am NOT, however, crazy! Gary hadn't started school yet, so he provided me with some reinforcements!
The boys were so excited to see the firetrucks. Grant now wants to drive by the firestation every time we leave town. The main focus of this program is fire safety. The kids watch a video, learn what NOT to play with, practice their 'stop drop and roll' skills and hug a fully uniformed firefighter. Grant decided he needed to show Grace the finer points of his rolling method.
Grant and Gary stop for a brief male bonding moment!
Grace, Chloe and Grant sitting inside on of the firetrucks!
Michael and Sparky. Grant refused to sit with Sparky this year.
Michael putting out fires!
Grant putting out fires!
The whole gang! I couldn't end this post without a reminder to check your smoke alarms.
