Cloud Dough

I love Pinterest for kiddo activities. I try to do a fun art activity with the kids at least once a week. I don't know if this qualifies as art, but it certainly qualifies as fun! The link that I used said this was the same recipe the museums used... well, that had me hooked!
Welcome to the world of cloud dough!!! Its soft like flour (because it is flour)... ... but molds like wet sand!!!
I made it while the boys were gathering up stacking cups. Super easy!
8 cups flour
1 cup baby oil
That's it! Mix it together and you have a great activity!!!
Did I mention that I stored it in a large tupperware container and we use it almost everyday while I'm making dinner? It. Is. Awesome.

Ballard Besties

We took our annual February trip to see the Ballards. Elijah and Grant play together really well now and are constantly asking each other, "Are you my best friend?" Its one of the funniest/most annoying things ever! Regardless, the kids enjoyed each other's company. My favorite part of the whole trip was feeling little baby Jack/Violet kicking! Can't wait to hold that baby!
A painting playdate at one of the best little gems on this earth, Pinwheel Kids. I so wish we had one here. His painting turned out beautiful! One for the wall, for sure! Grayson painted that same line over and over and over again! But he had a great time adding new colors. Our little Picasso-ette. Don't you just love that hair?!
Our attempt at a group picture. Too bad they were looking into the sun...
One of the few occasions that Grayson would play outside. He is DEATHLY afraid of the animals and didn't want to have anything to do with them. But I guess on this occasion he decided a little Vitamin D would do him some good.
Elijah and Grant make a great team!
We also went to the Children's Museum while we were there. I love this place. And so do the boys. Grayson got a kick out of the giant piano!
I had to pull the boys away from this table. Each had a duck on a boat and they had to figure out how to move the blocks so that they could flow to the end.
Elijah inside a bubble!
More boat fun!
A balancing act.
Grant in a bubble!
Elijah and Grant making music together!
Plinko (flashbacks to The Price is Right inserted here)!
The boys did well on these little outings, but were not all that great overall. Grant had a few meltdowns and Grayson was so stinkin afraid of the animals. If Erica invites us back, I'll know for sure that she really likes me. :) ha!

Little Picassos

We love art at our house these days. Grayson got an easel and art supplies for his birthday. We'll take it outside and make masterpieces while enjoying the weather (a blog on this another time). But this made me think that the boys needed to have some variety in their medium. So we whipped out the shaving cream and food coloring!
The boys sat at the kitchen table and made different colors, then we used the bathtub as our canvas! They loved it (I did, too! No convincing them that it was bath time and it was a breeze to clean up!). Grant was pretending he was Santa Claus.
And, of course, Grayson had to get in on the action!
Silly boy!
They actually really liked using it for body art more than anything! However, I wish I could share the picture of the artwork they made on the bathroom wall. Unfortunately, my photography wasn't abstract enough (little boy parts are everywhere!). Oh, well! Maybe next time!

A Little Landscaper

Both boys are fascinated by yard work. Really, I just think they are fascinated with their Daddy (who can balme them?). But they see him doing all this yard work and they want to be a part of it! Most days they'll sit and play while Gary mows the lawn or they'll dig with their tools or they'll help him water the "plants." This time Grant had a different idea...
... he wanted to be part of the action. He actually "mowed" the entire backyard with Gary. I just love that he is doing this without a shirt on. He looks like such a grown man! :)
