Six Months

Grayson is six months old! He is sitting with confidence, reaching for our food and kicking like a soccer player. I've never seen a kid kick so much. He mostly does it when he is really excited... when I show him a toy or some baby food. He continues to be the easiest baby that ever existed and I can't get over how much he loves Grant!
We went to the doctor last week for a well check up. Grayson continues to be on the small to average size. I was surprised when the doctor said he should be 5'10"-6'0" tall when he is grown. That is tall to me! But I guess anything is tall to me...
Official six month stats:
Height: 26.75 inches (51%)
Weight: 17 pounds (31%)
Head: 16.24 inches (2%)

Boy, oh Boy! They're Having Fun!

I am still eons behind in blogging. It always seems like our summer days are filled playing with friends, swimming in the baby pool and enjoying popsicles! No time to sit inside on the computer! Speaking of all these fun things, Grant's friend Michael spent the afternoon with us one day a few weeks ago. I always say it's easier to have these three kids than to have just my two. Michael and Grant keep each other so entertained, so I just need to worry about Grayson!
Wherever one went, the other followed. Both boys loved the baby pool! Grant and Michael decided that all the trucks needed a good swim as well. The boys took a break for a popsicle.
Still working on it!
They were so filthy after being outside for a few hours that I gave both boys an early bath. Michael was especially helpful in making sure that Grant was clean!

Blog vs. Mommyhood

Well, mommyhood has won this round. As it probably should have. We have been SO busy as of late that I haven't had time to keep the blog up-to-date with all of our fun activities. This post's purpose is to give a Reader's Digest version of the last couple of months. Enjoy the ride!
6.13.2010 - Grant and Grayson enjoy a wagon ride with Oma. 6.12.2010 - Grant is the entertainment at Michael and Robin's wedding.
6.10.2010 - Grant and I had fun at the splash park.
6.5.2010 - Grant helped celebrate Tippi's birthday by eating some cake!
5.26.2010 - Grant is learning all about mud.
5.14.2010 - Grant looks to feed some animals at Bayou Wildlife Park.
5.14.2010 - Grant and his friends try to decide what kind of animal they are looking at.
5.14.2010 - "Hmmm. Maybe we are really the ones inside the cage?"

Our Little Tripod

Grayson officially started sitting on June 1st. We've been trying to work on our 'style points' since then.
Grayson is definitely a tripod sitter. He always needs a hand on the ground to prop himself up. He enjoyed sitting on the grass outside.
Grayson - 5 months
Grant - 4 months

Memorial Day Tradition

Since the Ballards moved to Alvin five years ago, we have spent every Memorial Day together. When Erica told me they were moving yet again, I made her promise me that we would at least set this weekend aside to see each other. I'm glad she's keeping her promise because we had a great weekend. And if you're ever looking for us, you know where to find us!
We started by visiting the extended Scogin clan. Greg, Jen and baby Austin were in town, so we both got to show off our new baby boys. It was a short visit, but we enjoyed seeing everyone.

Austin and Grayson enjoy each other's company.

Four Generations. Mamaw, PawPaw, Daddy, Grant and Grayson.
After visiting family, we headed to our final destination. Grant and Elijah just played and played and played, as usual. Seeing them play together makes me look forward to when Grant and Grayson can play together. What friends they will be! Three years old, two years old, one year old. Grayson got his own bath. While we were there, we determined that it was possible for one woman to have all four of these children. Thank goodness there are two of us!!! Free swim! I felt so bad for Elijah and Sadie. They are so used to a clean swimming pool. They wash their feet off every time they get back in. Oh, but not Grant! By the time he was done with the pool, it looked like it was filled with river water! "Hey, mom, can I go swimming?"
Oh, the joys of summer! I love me some watermelon! Apparently, Erica does too!
Grayson and Daddy hanging out.
Yumm-o.
Elijah was just begging for us to go outside and have watermelon. I'm glad he finally got his wish.
This girl is all personality. I just love little miss Sadie!
We spent a lot of time in the backyard. The Ballards have a beautiful house and a great place to enjoy the outdoors. It will be great visiting them in the future!

Grant learned to hit home runs while there. I love watching this boy play. He is so much fun!
