Easter Egg Expedition

The Sunday before Easter, our church does an Easter Egg Hunt for all the kiddos. So we always wear our Easter outfits a week early because I know I'll actually be taking pictures! This year I bought the boys some coordinating handmade ties. Super cute.

Grant still stops every time he finds an egg to open it.

Look at the beautiful boy!

My boys checking out the loot. We have noticed that Grayson has a major sweet tooth. Grant likes candy (what kid doesn't?), but Grayson is in LOVE with candy. I either have to throw it away or hide it really well before my little stinker finds it. I bought some trail mix the other day. I walked into the kitchen one afternoon to find that Grayson had dumped out the whole bag on the floor and was picking out the M&Ms.

I love that we took a family photo again this year. However, my boys weren't really looking at the camera. Always next time...

Strawberry Jam

We made the short trip to Froberg's Farm again this year to pick strawberries, but this time we went with our friends, the Auburgs and the Husbys. While this is a fabulously fun activity in and of itself, I had another reason for suggesting it. I wanted to use Mark and Mitzi for their fabulous jam making skills!
Grant showing off his loot. He enjoyed himself. I promise.

The kids loved picking strawberries and quickly figured out which ones were going to make good jam!

Grant just loves Grace. He can typically be found following her around.

Gary wasn't able to join us this time, so I told Grayson to show Daddy his strawberry.

The happy crew! It was super muddy, so we went home, took off our dirty shoes and started making jam. Such a fun time!

Grass People: The Haircut

If you recall, we had a grass people playdate with our favorite girlfriends. :) Well, after a few weeks and lots of water and sunshine, we had hair. And were in need of haircuts!

Look out! That's some crazy hair!

So much fun!

Yup, I'm adorable.

Onto the action. I love this actitvity because the kids were excited about growing something and they practiced their scissor skills.

Snip, snip.

Future Cowboy?

Grant had the courage to ride a horse this time while we were at Bayou Wildlife Park a few weeks ago. While I don't think we'll have a career as a cowboy, I thought he did a great job!

A Trip to the Wild

We took another trip with MOMS Club to Bayou Wildlife Park. I didn't entirely think this trip through, though. I always think of it as such a neat, fun experience that I forgot how much Grayson is terrified of animals. And that the animals would be REALLY close. He lived on my hip until we got into the tram. And I was really envisioning him screaming through the whole ride, but he actually ended up doing really well.

Getting ready to feed the animals.

They look a little concerned, don't they???

"I don't know what you were so nervous about, mom. This is great!"

Grant has been begging me to see a zebra lately. And not just to see a zebra, but to see a zebra with Grace. Well, look out kiddo. I'm supermom... I make wishes come true! ha!

Last time we came was two years ago. Grant refused to ride the horse then, so I wasn't really expecting much this time. But he really wanted to try it! Yay!

Grant is Four!

Today my sweet, vivacious, funny little boy turns four! I can't believe how quickly time passes. Happy birthday, Grant! We love you soooo much!

A Day (or Two) at the Beach

Over Spring Break, we took the short drive down to Surfside for some beachside fun! The boys were in love!

Even though it was a Saturday AND St Patrick's Day, we had the whole beach to ourselves!

Grayson saw the Seagulls and started yelling, "Ducks! Ducks!" He insisted on walking over to them and then got so stinkin' mad when they flew away. Here, he's trying to convince them to come back down to his level. Not working!

My boys building sandcastles.

Seriously, the cutest kid that ever existed.

I need more water, Mom.

Fun in the sun!!! Funniest part of the whole trip was Grayson and the sand. That kid is the busiest kid I've ever known. He is always moving things from one place to another. He'll make the bed 20 times. If I ask him to set the table, that activity will keep him busy for 45 minutes. He is just very methodical and does things over and over again. Like I said, busy. When we got out all the sand toys, he picked up a shovel and started moving the beach over 15 feet. He'd take a shovelfull of sand, walk over a ways and put the sand down. He went back and forth for at least ten minutes. As if that spot just didn't have enough sand! He cracks me up!

Grass People: The Playdate

Over Spring Break, we got together with our friends Grace, Eva and Presley. I had talked to Jen and Mitzi about wanting to make egg creatures with grass hair. Jen had all the supplies, so it made the perfect playdate!
My sweet Grayson waiting his turn to decorate his cup. Jen handed me the camera (big mistake... I always take 500 pictures) and I snapped away while our kids were having fun! Ms. Jen helping Presley and Grayson. LOVE this picture of Grace. Such a sweet, beautiful kid.
Grant had to put TWO noses on his grass person!
Waiting for the soil and the seeds.
All done! Now we just have to wait for the grass to grow... stay tuned for an update!
