My Buddy, My Buddy

Erica and I ran some errands on Thursday. It's so much easier to do things outside the house when you go with someone else... not to mention much more fun. Anyhow, Grant was with us and Elijah stayed with Beau, but when we got back to Erica's house the boys got to have some play time. Elijah just yells, "Baby, Baby!" everytime he sees Grant. That child has a set of lungs (Elijah, not Grant). Well, we thought it would be cute if we could get Elijah to "hold" Grant. These pictures are just so adorable.

Mother's Day

Sunday was my first mother's day! We also celebrated Michael's confirmation. We went to my parent's house after church and enjoyed a beautiful evening and some yummy bar-b-que.

I think this is one of our first family photos!

Michael, Elliot (a friend's baby), and Grant. He said this was a lot harder than it looks!

One Month Old

Yesterday, Grant was one month old. I can hardly believe it! Gary and I took him to get his picture taken. These are just a few of our favorites (there are 103 pictures total... I'll spare you all the details). Enjoy!

Note to Self:

Babies don't like to be poked in the eye by their food source. They cry. Very loudly.

My Boy is Changing

Grant is one month old tomorrow. I can hardly believe it. This morning Grant was playing on mommy's lap and I was stealing kisses from him... he was smiling and enjoying himself. I love that time. That's probably my favorite time of day, even though I had to drag myself out of bed. Grant no longer sleeps four, five or six hours during the night. He eats every three hours, like clockwork. But he is a very easy baby to put back to sleep. Last night I was putting him back to bed after eating and I accidentally hit his head (very softly!) on the side of the crib. He slept through that and his mom fussing over him and kissing his head while apologizing profusely.

Anyhow, here are some pictures of my boy. These are from week 2, so they are already outdated, but I thought I would still post them. Enjoy!

I love this picture because of his arms. He looks so relaxed!

He loves getting a bath now. Yesterday we picked him up out of his swing and he was covered in poop. All over his back, shoulders, legs and even some on his face (we're not sure how he did that). Well, needless to say, we had to give him a bath. He loved it. Afterwards, we gave him his massage. This is usually what he looks like after we have accomplished all that. My little sleeper.

Mom and Grant. We really need to take a family photo. I think we will work on that his weekend. We have a very busy weekend. Gary graduates on Saturday with his Masters in Educational Management. Michael is going to be confirmed on Sunday. Oh, and did I mention that it is also my first Mother's Day? :)

I Pity the Fool...

OK, I know I am going to sound so super silly, but apparently you can put babies down for naps. Yes, I know I have been a mom for almost four weeks now. This shouldn't be a new thing, but it is. Previously, our routine included eating, rocking Grant to sleep, and then putting him in the swing in the living room or having play time on mommy's lap. This would last for about 20 or 30 minutes and then he would be fussy, so I would have to hold him. He never wanted to be put down! That makes it difficult to do other things... like eat lunch. Today, I fed Grant, played with him a bit, rocked him to sleep and then... put him in his bed!!! He has been sleeping for almost 30 minutes now. I have cleaned the kitchen, made the bed, gotten dressed and even had time to blog. WOW! I sure hope this is a trend... And I hope that learning "mommy" things slowly is not a trend.
