Future Troublemakers?

Elijah came over to my house this morning. The boys had so much fun playing with each other! While I was putting Grant down for a nap, I could here Elijah playing with his ExerSaucer. When I walked into the living room, this is what I see:

Elijah carwled into it all by himself. Needless to say, there was very little room for his legs! He is just a bit taller than Grant. When it was time to wake Grant up from his nap, I put Elijah in bed with him and told him to pretend to sleep next to Grant. How sweet! "Um, mom, I've never had anyone in my bed before... what's going on?" He always wakes up so happy. My favorite part of the day is walking into his room after a nap. He looks up at me and a huge grin spreads across his face. It just makes my heart melt. Can't you just tell that they are going to make trouble together later on in life?

Eating Us Out of House and Home

So, a little update on Grant's eating habits (because I know you all are very, very interested). He eats 36 oz of formula per day. We have four bottles a day at 9 oz each. I love feeding him every four hours... so much nicer than when it was every 2 1/2-3 hours. At one o'clock, we have snack time. Grant can either have two veggies or one veggie and one fruit. I made my first batch of homemade baby food today. I wanted to start him on store bought food just so I would know what he would like... but now I am all about making it on my own! Over the last few weeks, I have been documenting our feeding sessions. Enjoy just a few of the faces my sweet son makes when he tries new things...

College Bound

So, I have been AWOL for a little while. Well, I will try to type everything that has happened to us in the last four weeks in about 5 minutes. I am back to taking classes on campus and I just got connected to the wireless internet with our new computer. We still don't have internet at home, but we should have it in just a few days.

Gary has gone back to school as well. I stay home with Grant except for Tuesday and Thursday afternoons when either my mom or Erica takes care of him. The worst part about this schedule is that I don't get to put my boy to sleep two nights a week. I miss that already. But I know that this schedule maximizes my time with him and allows me to still go to school.

A few weeks back we had Grant's 4 month check up. They are as follows:

Height 25 1/2 inches (86%)

Weight 15 lbs 2 oz (73%)

Head 16 cm (37%)

This was great news! We were a little worried about his weight at the two month check up (only in the 5%), but that no longer seems to be an issue. The doctor said that he should be about 6'2"-6'4" when he is fully grown. He also said it looks like he will keep those baby blues. Oh, and he called him a "genius baby," but I already knew that.

A Prelude to Crawling

When we put Grant down for tummy time, he starts to wiggle his arms and legs like he is thinking about crawling. I guess this is how he so masterfully moves from one side of his crib to the other in the middle of the night. What a smart boy!

His First Taste of Bananas

Grant will be four months old next week! He has been fussing after each of his feedings (like he wants more food), but instead of giving him more formula, we decided to give him a little rice cereal and bananas. The rice cereal he took with no problems. When we added the bananas to the cereal, you could tell he knew something was different.

Before we got started, we stripped him down to his diaper. Good thing, too... he had food all over him by the end!
He's not too sure what to make of the texture of the rice cereal, but he ate it up!
"Can I have some more, please?"
We had to give him a bath afterwards... I think that was his favorite part!
