Uncle G and Aunt Jen

Greg and Jen came to visit us and our boy last weekend. They were naturals with him! I expect to see a little cousin in the near future! :) Again, I stole these pictures from Jen's website. I am getting good at that...

Uncle G, Aunt Jen and Grant. Doesn't he look perfectly content?
Big smile!

Some Random Pictures

The Nursery

When Gary, Grant and I got home from the hospital, we saw our finished nursery! Beau and Erica came over and finished it for us and did some other things around our house. It was so nice to come home and have fresh flowers, a finished nursery and a great front lawn. You guys are great! :)

First Babysitter

I had a test on Friday, so Beau, Erica and Elijah took care of Grant for a few hours. I didn't want to leave him even though I knew he was in perfectly good hands. It's hard to leave your baby... especially when you have to go so far away!

Anyhow, Elijah was so cute with Grant. He tried getting in the car seat with him and kept naming his body parts... nose, eyes, hair. What a smart boy! Here are some pics I stole from Erica's page:

By the way, I totally think Beau and Erica need to have another baby. Elijah needs a sibling and Grant needs a future wife! :)

Isn't he adorable?? The elephant sure does seem to like him.

Our Growing Boy

I am trying to hold Grant and type at the same time, so pardon any typos. We went for his two week check up on Friday. He has already grown so much! If he had a baseball card, these stats would be on the back: weight 8 lbs 8.5 ozs 41st percentile height 21.5 inches 79th percentile head 14.25 inches 29th percentile

To Aunt Erica's House to Play

Grant and I went to Erica's house this afternoon (which is why I can post this blog). I had a bit of cabin fever and needed out of the house. Grant did great last night... he slept from 7 to 2 without waking up once, then he woke up again at 5. Not too bad! But this morning he has been a little grouchy. I was able to fit in time to wash my hair though! Go me! :)

Grant gives a glimpse of his smile all the time. I wish we could catch it on film. He is going to have the best looking smile... right now he only smiles when he has gas, but one of these days he'll smile at his mom!

Tomorrow we have a doctor's appointment. He should be back up to his birth weight by now. They will also tell his what percentile he is in for weight, height and head circumfrence.

Look at these pictures of my boy... this is a typical day for us. Throw in a feeding session or two and you have our day.

We're Home!!!

Well, we're home! Grant and I were discharged from the hospital on Friday. We got him all bundled up in his little going home outfit and they actually let us leave. I kept waiting for "the movie" to end. None of it seemed real to me. The whole thing felt surreal and I have to keep telling myself that Grant is really here, he is really mine, and I will get to kiss his toes just as long as I want (well, at least until he's four or five, right?) Our first night wasn't so pleasant... Grant had his little "boy" surgery that morning and he was very uncomfortable. Needless to say, Gary and I were up all night trying to get him to sleep... no luck. Mom took him about 5 AM and Gary and I slept for a whole two hours. That never felt so good. The next few nights have been getting better and better. He wakes to feed every three or so hours and then goes right back to sleep. What a perfect baby! We love him! :) Gary went back to work today and Gary's mom is staying with us a couple of nights. Gary called me during his conference period and was just so upset that he had to be away from us. He was been a wonderful dad. He is cleaning, cooking, changing diapers (that will forever be his job) and just being a wonderful husband. My mom and his mom have been helping us out tremendously and I am hopefully on the road to recovery (although I am not so sure because I take a million grams of pain killer daily... maybe I just feel better). I promise to have pictures up soon of our precious boy. I know that is what everyone really wants to see on this blog. I have borrowed my dad's laptop and internet card, so I will have internet access for a little while, but I need to figure out the whole picture thing on this computer. Thanks for all the prayers and good wishes. God has definitely granted us a dream come true.
