Grant turns four!

Don't pass out. I know it's been forever. I'm going to catch up on all the blogging I've missed. So, go back in time... to April or so... Grant turns four! We love this picture because it captures that silly kid perfectly!

Grant loves this little train. We bought it for him years ago and thought it would be so cute in a picture.
So. Grown. Up.
I love that smile. And he has an awesome laugh! Such a vivacious young man!

Hunting Eggs

After our blue elephant party, we headed to Tippi and PawPaw's for an Easter Egg Hunt. Tippi had hidden eggs all around the house and each was filled with a prize. The boys loved discovering what was in each egg!!

Blue Elephant Party

I had grand plans this year for a dinosaur themed birthday party. Grant loves them and so I thought it would be perfect. Everytime I talked about it with him, he acted very excited. Well, about three weeks before his big party, he changed his mind. He wanted a "blue elephant" party. I had already worked hard on a dino party, so I was NOT changing it. But I thought of a small comprimise... we took Grant to the zoo (just us) and celebrated in Blue Elephant style! I made Grant a shirt with a blue elephant; I made blue elephant cupcakes; We packed a small lunch and present and headed to the zoo!

We love having lunch with the giraffes. Amazingly, we always get a table. If their necks were just a few inches longer they could eat off our plates and the boys just think it's the neatest thing! :)

We normally don't ride the train. But we made an exception this time and the boys loved it!

I think we wore them out!!!

The Hunt Video

The boys loved Easter Egg hunting this year (as always). I loved watching their different styles of gathering. Grant ran out as fast as he could to get an egg, then would stop to open it up. He would run around some more all the while yelling, "More eggs! More eggs!" Grayson would start slow and just look around. I wasn't sure if he was looking for eggs or just watching to see what everyone else was doing. And in the end, he would have six or seven eggs and he'd be perfectly content. Can't wait to do it all over again next year.

Easter Egg Expedition

The Sunday before Easter, our church does an Easter Egg Hunt for all the kiddos. So we always wear our Easter outfits a week early because I know I'll actually be taking pictures! This year I bought the boys some coordinating handmade ties. Super cute.

Grant still stops every time he finds an egg to open it.

Look at the beautiful boy!

My boys checking out the loot. We have noticed that Grayson has a major sweet tooth. Grant likes candy (what kid doesn't?), but Grayson is in LOVE with candy. I either have to throw it away or hide it really well before my little stinker finds it. I bought some trail mix the other day. I walked into the kitchen one afternoon to find that Grayson had dumped out the whole bag on the floor and was picking out the M&Ms.

I love that we took a family photo again this year. However, my boys weren't really looking at the camera. Always next time...

Strawberry Jam

We made the short trip to Froberg's Farm again this year to pick strawberries, but this time we went with our friends, the Auburgs and the Husbys. While this is a fabulously fun activity in and of itself, I had another reason for suggesting it. I wanted to use Mark and Mitzi for their fabulous jam making skills!
Grant showing off his loot. He enjoyed himself. I promise.

The kids loved picking strawberries and quickly figured out which ones were going to make good jam!

Grant just loves Grace. He can typically be found following her around.

Gary wasn't able to join us this time, so I told Grayson to show Daddy his strawberry.

The happy crew! It was super muddy, so we went home, took off our dirty shoes and started making jam. Such a fun time!

Grass People: The Haircut

If you recall, we had a grass people playdate with our favorite girlfriends. :) Well, after a few weeks and lots of water and sunshine, we had hair. And were in need of haircuts!

Look out! That's some crazy hair!

So much fun!

Yup, I'm adorable.

Onto the action. I love this actitvity because the kids were excited about growing something and they practiced their scissor skills.

Snip, snip.
